Cats love to play. They love your attention. Some cats favor flying toys, like feathers on a string. Many love to chase cloth mice. And there is that favorite of all cats – the paper bag! One of my cats loved to play catch with a soft ball with a cloth covering – it was part of one of my kids’ toys. Catnip scented toys are favorites.

Whatever you choose, be sure to examine toys for safety, like you would for a baby. And never leave your cat alone with strings.

Tell your cat where your going, how long you’ll be, that you’re getting dinner ready, that they are good little kitties, even if you can’t be sure they understand. When your cats are trying to communicate with you, try to understand. You might never be able to figure it out, but cats love the special attention.

You already know that there are a lot of treats available for your cats. Experiment to find their favorites. There are even toys in which you can hide some smelly and tasty treats for them to enjoy finding.  

Amazingly, some cats LOVE catnip, some are not interested and some become aggressive (I have one of those). So give it a try and see what your cats decide.
